Game night at the villa: PS5 games for a group of friends
How to run a game night for friends on one PlayStation 5: which of the installed games suit a group, three tournament formats, and what to ask for when you book.
A villa evening with friends often goes the same way: dinner is over, nobody wants to go out, and everyone is on their phone. One console on the big TV changes that, as long as the games are ones a whole group can share.
Games for playing side by side
Two of the games on our consoles are made for playing together:
- EA Sports FC 25. Football. PlayStation lists it among its local multiplayer games: several people play on one console, on the same team or against each other.
- Mortal Kombat 1. Fights for two. The PlayStation Store lists it as 1–2 players offline; PS Plus is needed only for online play, and it is already on the console. Rounds are short, so a group rotates quickly.
The rest are story games where the main campaign is for one player: GTA V, Marvel’s Spider-Man, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us Part I and Uncharted. In a group they work differently: one person plays, the others watch and argue about where to go. Pass the controller at every chapter or every lost fight.

Controllers
The kit comes with one DualSense. For two people at once, ask for a second controller when you send your dates. We check whether one is free.
More of you than controllers? Play “winner stays on” (below): the controllers keep moving and nobody sits out for long.
Three formats that work
- Winner stays on. One match, then the loser hands the controller to the next person in line. Works for any number of people and needs no table.
- Round robin in FC 25. Everyone plays everyone once: three points for a win, one for a draw. Keep the table on paper or in the group chat. Four players means six matches.
- Mortal Kombat 1 knockout. Draw the pairs and the winner of each moves on. Make the final best of three matches so luck counts for less.
What you need on your side
- A TV with an HDMI input. The cable is in the kit; we do not bring a TV.
- A free socket near the TV.
- Signed in to your own PSN account? That is fine, but sign out before the console goes back. The courier checks.
What it costs
Low-season prices: 3 days for 1,000 ฿, 5 days for 1,500 ฿, a week for 2,000 ฿. Delivery depends on the area, from 400 ฿ to Kathu and Patong up to 700–800 ฿ to Mai Khao. No deposit; you pay cash to the courier. Cancel for free until the courier has left.
