A month in Phuket with a PS5: what a long rental costs

In Phuket for a month or a whole season, an evening console stops being a holiday treat and becomes part of the routine. For long stays the arithmetic is simple: the longer the plan, the cheaper each day.

A day on the monthly plan costs two and a half times less than a day on the 3-day plan. These are low-season prices.

Book the right plan rather than extending

Extensions are there for when plans change: +1 day for 500 ฿, +3 days for 1,500 ฿, +1 week for 2,000 ฿, +2 weeks for 3,000 ฿. But past a certain point, extending costs more than booking the longer plan from the start:

• 10 days. A week plus a 3-day extension comes to 3,500 ฿. Two weeks cost 3,000 ฿: cheaper, with four days to spare.
• 3 weeks. Two weeks plus a 1-week extension comes to 5,000 ฿. A month costs 4,000 ฿.
• 4 weeks. Two weeks plus a 2-week extension comes to 6,000 ฿. A month costs 4,000 ฿.

Delivery

Delivery is separate and depends on the area: 400 ฿ for Kathu and Patong, 500 ฿ for Karon and Kamala, 600 ฿ for Kata, Bang Tao and Chalong, 700–800 ฿ for Mai Khao. We send one number with the rental and delivery together. On the last day the courier collects the kit.

On a long stay

• Extending. Tell us at least a day before the term ends.
• Your own PSN account. You can sign in, but sign out before the console goes back. The courier checks.
• Payment. No deposit; you pay cash to the courier. Cancel for free until the courier has left.
